Universal Orlando 3 Park vs All Parks Ticket: Which Should You Buy?

What each ticket covers

Universal Orlando has four gates: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and the Volcano Bay water park. Both of the tickets below run for 14 days from first use and both include CityWalk, the dining and entertainment district between the original two parks.

The Universal Orlando 3 Park Adventure Ticket covers the three theme parks. The Universal Orlando All Parks Ticket covers those three and adds Volcano Bay. There is no other difference between them.

Does either ticket include Epic Universe?

Both do. Epic Universe opened as Universal's third theme park and is included on both tickets, which is worth stating plainly because it is the single most common misunderstanding we are asked about. What you are actually choosing between

Because the park lists overlap so heavily, it helps to state the decision in one line: you are deciding whether to pay a modest difference for a water park day. Everything else about the two tickets is the same.

That includes the things people often assume differ. Both run for 14 days from first use, so neither restricts you to consecutive days. Both allow you to move between the three theme parks on the same day, which matters at Universal because Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure sit either side of CityWalk and the Hogwarts Express runs between them, and riding it in both directions requires access to both parks. Both include CityWalk itself, which is where most visitors end up eating.

Neither ticket includes Universal Express Pass, the paid queue-skipping product, and neither includes parking. The Volcano Bay closure changes the maths

Volcano Bay is closed for refurbishment from 26 October 2026 and reopens for arrivals from 25 March 2027. That matters commercially, because Volcano Bay is the only thing the All Parks ticket adds. Outside that window the choice is a straightforward one about whether your group will use a water park. Orlando in high summer makes a strong case for one; a February half term trip usually does not.

How many days do you need?

Four parks is comfortably a four to five day job, and Epic Universe alone justifies a full day and often two. Both tickets run for 14 days, so on a fortnight's holiday you are not being asked to compress the parks into consecutive days.

Theme Park Direct records posted wait times across the Orlando parks every few minutes and keeps a per-ride history going back to 2014. Across the 2026 season so far, Epic Universe has the longest average waits of any theme park we track in Orlando, and by a clear margin:

The individual rides tell the same story. At Epic Universe, Mine-Cart Madness averaged 104 minutes and peaked at 134, and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry averaged 98 minutes and peaked at 131. Only Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure over at Islands of Adventure runs longer, at 114 minutes on average against a 162 minute peak.

Epic Universe queues are settling

One trend worth knowing if you are choosing dates as well as a ticket. Across its tracked rides, Epic Universe averaged 44.8 minutes through 2025 and 39.5 minutes so far in 2026, a fall of roughly five minutes per ride year on year. The park-level picture is more pronounced: relative to its own history, Epic Universe sat at its busiest through June and July 2025, immediately after opening, and has run considerably quieter through the middle of 2026.

That is the normal pattern for a new park as the opening surge fades, and it has a practical consequence. Epic Universe is no longer the automatic reason to add days to a Universal trip that it was in its first summer, though it is still the busiest park in Orlando by average wait and still deserves a full day rather than an afternoon.

The practical conclusion is about days rather than tickets: Epic Universe is not a half day bolted onto an Islands of Adventure morning. Budget a full day for it, and a second if your group wants to ride the headliners more than once. That is what makes the 14 day validity on both tickets worth having, and it is the reason a three or four day Universal trip usually ends up feeling rushed.

Both tickets are sold as separate travel year versions, and you need the one that matches when you are going rather than when you are booking. The 2027 Universal Orlando 3 Park Adventure Ticket starts at £367.24 per adult and the 2027 All Parks ticket at £398.80.

The 2027 tickets are worth a second look for one reason specific to this comparison. Volcano Bay reopens for arrivals from 25 March 2027, so a 2027 trip after that date is the first in a while where the All Parks ticket delivers everything it describes.
