Our admission had been sorted a couple of months ahead of the trip, so everything was ready when we arrived. VelociCoaster was brilliant once we were on it, although my fourteen-year-old had persuaded me to ride and I spent most of the queue regretting agreeing.

Came back to Toy Story Land later, and our youngest absolutely loved it!

More planning than we expected, and the Disney app took a day to get used to. It felt overwhelming at first, but once we relaxed and stopped trying to do everything, we enjoyed the holiday much more.

Guardians was our twelve-year-old's number one ride at EPCOT and the one everyone discussed over dinner. I needed a few minutes afterwards, but would ride again.

The park to park option added more than expected, with the Hogwarts Express becoming part of the day and connecting the Harry Potter sections.

With tickets working without any problems, spreading Universal over a few days suited us. I preferred Hagrid's to the excellent VelociCoaster; our son disagreed.

Guardians at Epcot was an instant family favourite. Even my mum in her sixties came off laughing.

Meeting the characters mattered much more to our youngest than going on any rides. Realising that changed the whole day. Instead of dragging her from one queue to the next, we followed her pace, and things improved immediately. Disney became much more enjoyable for all of us.

Hagrid's was worth the wait, but go early.

TRON lived up to our teenagers' expectations, though I found it too short. Magic Kingdom made for a long but very good day.

EPCOT felt like the right park after two early starts at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We took the day more slowly, had a long lunch and still managed Guardians. It was one of best Disney days.

Taking two teenagers to Discovery Cove, I'd worried they might find it too quiet, but I was wrong. They spent ages snorkelling, went round the lazy river again and again, and it was one of the few days everyone agreed on.

Travelled with our children. Discovery Cove felt different from Orlando's other attractions and worth the price.

Flexible tickets helped. Universal worked well over three days, giving our family time to revisit Hagrid's, Spider Man and Jurassic Park without rushing.
