How the 5-day window works
You choose a start date when you book. The ticket then covers any 3 of the 5 consecutive calendar days that begin on that date, so a ticket starting on May 10 can be used on any 3 days from May 10 to May 14. The days do not have to be in a row: you can leave a pool day, a Disney day or a rest day in between. After day 5 the ticket expires, and a day you have not used is lost.

The 3-day base ticket fits a plan of one full day each at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe. What it does not allow is moving between parks during a day, including on the Hogwarts Express.
