Can you buy a Disney water park ticket on its own?
Yes. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are sold as single day admission without a theme park ticket. This is the right buy if the water parks are the only part of Walt Disney World you want, or if you already hold theme park admission and want to add a water park day.

A standard water park ticket admits you to one water park for one day. The two are a similar size and take a similar time, so most visitors choose one rather than trying both. Typhoon Lagoon is the surf and beach themed park; Blizzard Beach is themed as a melting ski resort.

Blockout dates
Some water park tickets are sold cheaper with blockout dates, which are days the ticket cannot be used. These are usually the busiest days of the year. A blockout ticket is good value if your dates avoid them and worthless if they do not, so check your dates against the blockout list before choosing on price.
The current supplier terms for the Disney 1-Day Water Park ticket with blockout dates list the blockout period as May 23 through September 26, 2026. Blockout dates for summer 2027 are not yet listed in the terms, so check the product page before choosing that ticket for a summer 2027 date.
When a theme park ticket option is better
If you are visiting theme parks on the same trip, the Water Park and Sports option or Park Hopper Plus usually works out cheaper than buying water park days separately, because the extra visits are bundled into admission you are already paying for.
