What park to park means at Universal Orlando
Park to park admission lets you enter more than one Universal Orlando park on the same day. Base admission does not: it allows one park per day.
The Hogwarts Express is the deciding factor
The Hogwarts Express runs between Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida and Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure. Because the two stations are in different parks, riding it requires park to park admission. This is the single most common reason visitors upgrade, and the most common reason people are disappointed by a base ticket.
See our guides to Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
Which length of park-to-park ticket to buy
1-day park-to-park ticket

A 2-Day Universal park-to-park ticket, from $302.51 per adult, gives two days across Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, used within 4 consecutive days. It does not include Epic Universe.
3-day park-to-park ticket

The Universal Orlando parks on a park-to-park ticket
Universal Studios Florida
Universal Studios Florida is the movie-themed park and home to Diagon Alley in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Its headline rides include Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, Revenge of the Mummy, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and Men in Black Alien Attack. See our Universal Studios Florida guide and the best rides at Universal Studios Florida.
Universal Islands of Adventure
Islands of Adventure is the thrill-ride park and home to Hogsmeade in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Its headline rides include Jurassic World VelociCoaster, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk Coaster. See our Islands of Adventure guide and the best rides at Islands of Adventure.
Universal Epic Universe
Epic Universe opened on May 22, 2025, as Universal Orlando's newest theme park, with five themed worlds: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk and Dark Universe. Its headline rides include Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Stardust Racers and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. See our Epic Universe guide and Epic Universe rides ranked.
Who park to park suits
It suits anyone visiting for the Wizarding World, anyone on a short trip who wants to see the highlights of both parks rather than all of one, and returning visitors who want to move between favorites rather than work through a park in order.
Who can skip it
If you have several days and are happy to take one park at a time, base admission does the same job for less. If the Wizarding World is not a priority, the upgrade is harder to justify.
| Length | Base ticket from | Park-to-park from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | $151.47 | $196.10 |
| 2 days | $265.56 | $302.51 |
| 3 days | $397.01 | $425.06 |
See Universal Orlando day tickets for base admission, and read Universal 2-park vs 3-park tickets.
With and without Volcano Bay
Some park to park tickets add Volcano Bay, Universal's water park. It is a separate gate and a different kind of day, so it is worth adding only if you have a day to give it. On a two or three day trip, most visitors are better served by the theme parks.
Volcano Bay is closed for its seasonal refurbishment from October 26, 2026, and is scheduled to reopen in late March 2027. See Universal park-to-park tickets with Volcano Bay.
What a Universal park-to-park ticket does not include
Universal Orlando tickets do not include Universal Express Pass, parking, food, or separately ticketed events such as Halloween Horror Nights. Read about the Universal Express Pass and Halloween Horror Nights dates and tickets. Universal CityWalk, the dining and entertainment district, needs no theme park ticket, though some CityWalk venues are for ages 21 and over.
What to check before you book
Confirm which parks are covered, whether Epic Universe is included on your dates, whether Volcano Bay is part of the ticket, and the validity window the days must be used within.
Universal Orlando tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, and must be used by the same person on every day. Entry includes a biometric scan, and valid photo ID is required. Unused days are forfeited when the ticket's window ends.
